EAC integration will surely benefit all five countries

Editor,

This is with reference to your article that appeared in yesterday’s issue of The New Times entitled "EAC Sec. Gen calls on Kagame.”

It is very interesting to read the Secretary General of the East African Community Dr. Richard Sezibera’s comments, and the steps being taken by the EAC Secretariat to further the integration process.

A common saying goes, "Unity is Strength” and the collaboration between the five EAC countries - Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda will ensure added strength for the EAC region, in today’s highly competitive world.

The fact that the Monetary Union will be effective from 2012, as planned is great news. So, too, is the news of the upcoming construction of a new railway line linking Dar-es-Salaam, Isaka, Kigali and Bujumbura.

I wish Dr. Sezibera every success in his new assignment.
Kind regards
