Rwandan envoy presents credentials to Portuguese President

The Rwanda Ambassador to Portugal with residence in Paris, Jacques Kabale, yesterday presented his letters of credence to the Portuguese President, Jose Anibal Cavaco Silva Hanibal. The function, that took place at the Presidential Palace of Belem, was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chief of Diplomacy, the Adviser of the President and other senior officials from the Portuguese government.

The Rwanda Ambassador to Portugal with residence in Paris, Jacques Kabale, yesterday presented his letters of credence to the Portuguese President, Jose Anibal Cavaco Silva Hanibal.

The function, that took place at the Presidential Palace of Belem, was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Chief of Diplomacy, the Adviser of the President and other senior officials from the Portuguese government.

"Ambassador Kabale also transmitted a message of high esteem and friendship from President Paul Kagame to his counterpart Silva, as well as the willingness to build a strong relationship based on mutual respect, solidarity and a partnership that will benefit both countries,” reads a statement from Kabale’s office.

It adds that the Portuguese President hailed Rwanda’s role in peacekeeping.

The ceremony ended with a reception in honour of five other non-resident Ambassadors.
