Dear editor

Drinking alcohol is a very common and usual thing to do in our societies. However it’s very much disappointing that people are drinking high amounts without considering its adverse effects.

If you happen to seek for more information on what damage it can cause to your health, you would be avoided completely.

Drinking too much alcohol puts you at higher risk for cancer of the pancreas, mouth, tongue, liver cancer, fatty liver, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and other liver disease and throat. This risk is even greater if you also use tobacco products.

Increasing the acidity in your stomach could be another strong negative effect on your health. The irritating effects of alcohol may cause gastritis pancreatitis or a peptic ulcer thus leading to ill-health.

So we should avoid drinking alcohol because our internal organs are very essential to our lives and once damaged, could lead to a gradual death.
