A new stylish tavern, Captain Lounge, is set to open its doors in Giporoso, Remera, opposite Engen Petrol Station along airport road.

Captain Lounge is slated for launch next Saturday, June 4. However, the inn would be ready for business next Wednesday. It will be operational from weekdays to weekends for 24 hours.

The inn features a restaurant, bar and a coffee shop – offering a wide variety of coffees, cappuccinos, ice-creams, milkshakes as well as tea, creamers and snacks like cookies, burgers, chapatis, and salad.

For those wishing to dine away from home, you will have a taste of popular continental and local dishes: BBQ, Matooke, cassava, yams, posh, potatoes and ‘sombe.’

Daniel Zedekiah, the proprietor of Captain Lounge, told The New Times that, despite its outstanding services, the inn would be affordable and hospitable for everyone.

"We’re not only restricted on making the place look wonderful, we shall focus on customer care and the hygiene,” Zedekiah said.

He added, "We shall also provide membership to our frequent clients, where they will be getting services at subsidised prices – rewarding loyalty.”

Zedekiah added that the management would not be limited to other activities because it is looking at a bigger picture: "We’re not only targeting the in-house services but even the outside catering.”

"The place is remarkable. We have a special comfortable section, where we shall be hosting after parties and birthday parties,” Zedekiah said.

Location, ambiance

The location preserves the roadhouse vibe! Giporoso is home to various business activities.

The inn has excellent décor while the lighting system features hugging lamps along the walls alongside air-conditioners.

Annette Umurerwa, the manager of Captain Lounge, said the inn also include unique decorative designs to complement the interior design.

The bar is situated in a big open quarter that goes with a podium for live performances.

Zedekiah stressed that the setting of the lighting system will be determined by the occasion: "We have recessed wall and shadow lighting.

So, the type of lighting will depend on the theme. For example, the lighting in the morning will differ from that at lunch time and evening,” he said.
