Three local artists and two journalists won a special offer from President Paul Kagame to attend the 2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup, to be held in Mexico, U.S.

While in Mexico, Makonikoshwa, Diplomate, and Eric Senderi will perform to cheer up the U-17 Junior Wasps. The stars will travel along with David Bayingana from Voice of Africa and Anita Pendo of Contact FM.

The fourteenth tournament of the FIFA U-17 World Cup will begin from 18 June-10 July.

Recently, Kagame hosted musicians and journalists to a reception, to thank them for their support during last year’s presidential elections.

Intore Massamba, who was in the committee that selected the artists, said the President had promised to support local artists to showcase their talent beyond the country.

"He (President Kagame) asked us to choose within ourselves as artists in the country three who will perform in Mexico to support the U-17 Junior Wasps,” he revealed.
