The National U-17 that is slated to participate in the World Cup should be given support to perform effectively. Even in Premier or Champion league matches, home support gives players courage to win matches.

So for Junior Wasps to go beyond the preliminary rounds, we need to rally behind them every step of the way.

We cannot blame our local teams for poor performance. Such an attitude should change if our local teams are to succeed in the future.

I am sure that it is the support of the fans and our government that helped the U-17 qualify for the global event. I am certain that the U-17 team would not have reached this stage without massive support. We should keep this spirit up.

Government has played its role so far. What remains is for the general public to give its support.
