AMAVUBI will not play any build up matches ahead of next Sunday’s must win 2012 Nations Cup qualifier against Burundi.

The Wasps’ last friendly was last year against Ivory Coast as a warm-up game for their CHAN qualifier against Tanzania.

A win for Amavubi against Burundi coupled with a Benin loss against Ivory Coast’s Elephants will send Rwanda into second place in Group H with six points.

Ivory Coast currently top the group with nine points, Benin is second on four points while Rwanda follows in third place with three points. Burundi who are still chasing for their first win are at the foot of the group with one point.

Meanwhile Burundi’s captain Valerie Nahayo will not feature in the tie. The Former Kaizer chiefs’ defender is on trials with Belgian top division side Genk.

Rwanda’s maiden appearance came back in 2004 under the stewardship of Rotamir Djokovic and Jean Marie Ntagwabira.

The 2012 Nations Cup will be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
