Ruterana is eager to make ammends

RWANDA’s seasoned golfers Emmanuel Ruterana and Jean Baptiste Hakizimana together with rookies Ernest Ndayisenga and Olivier Munyaneza will face stiff competition from 32 other golfers in the four-day KCB Golf Open which tees off tomorrow at Kigali’s Par-72 golf course.

Ruterana who finished second in last year’s edition but failed to make the cut in the Arusha leg early this month, is confident the intensive training he has been undergoing will pay off at the end of the grueling four-round tournament where Rwf6.9m is up for grabs.

"I have done lots of training since coming back from Tanzania and I’m keen to erase the Arusha disappointment,” the 27-year-old said.
"The course is in good shape and the ball is rolling off nicely on the greens.”

Simon Ngigi won last year’s edition and is one of 24 Kenyan golfers vying for honors.
