Fasassi Nasur, known as Diplomate, is one of the famed rappers in Rwanda.

He broke onto the music scene in 2009, with his "Umucyakara W’ibihe” wonder hit, alongside R&B singer, Young Junior.

He released more memorable songs throughout 2010, including "Kure Y’imbibi,” "Umunsi Ucyeye” and ‘Power’.

He was crowned the ‘Best hip-hop artist’ last year, which made him appear in many other artists’ songs.

The 23-year-old’s proud achievement is his recently, baby girl, and the support his fans give him. Diplomate’s music is famous for its historic and cultural content.

He admires nationalists like Gandhi, and criticizes injustice and wrong politics.

He was inspired by African-American rappers of the 90’s, especially Snoop Dogg.

On the other hand, critics suggest that the deep voiced rapper is not creative, for trying to imitate the "Drop it like it’s hot,” rhythm.

In his "Umunsi Ucyeye” single, Diplomate used the exact track of the American song, ‘Happy Days’, yet it was originally done by ‘The Game’.

Even the titles of the two songs almost share the same meaning in their respective languages.

Despite the critics, Diplomate is still accepted as a talented rap star in the local showbiz.
