Editor,

I wish to respond to a letter that appeared in the Thursday issue of The New Times titled "Can the Gikondo humps be painted too?”, written by Pierre Musoni.

Musoni requested that the City council authorities do something and paint the humps in Gikondo area.

I wish to inform him and other residents of Kigali that the leadership of KCC is in the process of repainting all humps in the City and also painting large writings on the tarmac, cautioning motorists of humps ahead.

We started with the humps on the busiest roads in the City centre including Nyamirambo, Kimisagara, Nyarutarama and Kimihurura but the process is ongoing and all humps in Kigali will be repainted by the end of this month.

In the meantime, we request motorists to drive safely.

We appreciate the concern of this particular reader and thank him for raising such pertinent issue in your paper.
