RAYON Sport are looking to bounce back from their mid-week Primus League defeat to Amagaju when they take on Police in one of four Peace Cup quarter-final matches this afternoon at Mumena stadium.

The blues are desperate to win a trophy after a six-year drought and with APR having won the league; the Peace Cup is the only realistic chance for Coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira.

In yesterday’s pre-match interview, the 38-year-old who won four Peace Cup titles with APR told Times Sport that he has no special plans to curtail Police’s prolific striker Meddie Kagera, who is destined to win the league’s top scorer accolade after netting 17 goals.

"He is a wonderful striker but we will not make any special plans to man-mark him. We shall play our usual way,” Ntagwabira said before adding, "One of the reasons I joined this great club is to win trophies and we still have a chance.”

Elsewhere, Haruna Niyonzima and Iranzi Jean Claude have been passed fit for APR’s tie against Kiyovu.

The military side is keen to retain the trophy but is wary of a resurgent Kiyovu side which has been scoring goals for fun.

However, the green baggies’ cause will not be helped by injuries to Jean Shyaka and Mbanza Hussein.
