FRANKFURT – Junior Wasps coach Richard Tardy is relatively pleased with his side’s draw for the 2011 Fifa U-17 World Cup in Mexico but is not expecting any easy matches.

England, Uruguay and Canada are Rwanda’s opponents in Group C and Tardy who was not in a rush to give his verdict said: "It could have been worse.  What we need is a strong start.

We play England and it is imperative that we get a good result in that game to boost our confidence.”

The Junior Wasps begin their campaign against England on June 19; they then play Uruguay on June 22 before winding up with Canada on June 25.

Rwanda advanced to the World Cup after reaching the final of the Africa U-17 Championship. The other African teams to qualify include Burkina Faso, Congo Brazzaville and Ivory Coast.

Like Rwanda (CAF), Canada (CONCACAF) and Uruguay (CONMEBOL) finished runner-up in their respectively qualifying zones.

England reached the European championship semi-final only to lose to eventual champions-the Netherlands.

The top two teams in each of the six groups and the four best third-placed teams will advance to the round of 16.

The tournament, which runs from June 18 to July 10, will be played in seven cities; Guadalajara, Monterrey, Morelia, Torreon, Pachuca, Queretaro and Mexico City.

On Wednesday, the junior wasps held Tottenham’s U-18 side to a goalless draw in London and will continue their build-up with two friendlies in Germany.

The youngsters play Koln U-18 tomorrow before facing Dusseldorf U-18 on Wednesday.
