MUSANZE and Mukura’s days in the Primus National Football League are numbered after failing to grind out results in the mid-week fixtures.

Mukura, who have never been relegated from the Primus league, lie bottom with 14 points after Wednesday’s 4-1 defeat against Kiyovu and with two tricky games in Marines and Police coming up, their fate is insurmountable.

Musanze also suffered a 1-0 defeat against Muhanga to stay in 11th position, one point above Mukura.

The Northern Province club got promoted to the top flight this season but could be on their way down. The team winds up their campaign against Police and La Jeunesse.

For Muhanga, the win boosted their survival hopes after taking them to 16 points.

The club’s final fixtures are against AS Kigali and Etincelles, who are now fourth following yesterday’s 1-0 win over AS Kigali. Striker Claver Muhire scored the lone goal.

The league is now on hold until June 8 to allow the national team –Amavubi Stars prepare for their 2012 Nations Cup return leg qualifier against Burundi on June 5.

Twenty one players are expected to enter camp this Sunday at La Palisse Nyandungu.
