Junior Chamber International (JCI)-Rwanda chapter has entered into a partnership with BiD Network and SPARK to support Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (SME`s).

The partnership will enable JCI to train university students about job creation as well as empower entrepreneurs to develop and expand their businesses.

JCI president, Lydia Hakizimana, explained that the partnership seeks to address challenges that up-coming entrepreneurs or fresh university graduates face in starting businesses.

"This aims at enabling fresh university graduates start businesses to fight unemployment,” Hakizimana said.

Beneficiaries will be drawn from various universities and will undergo training in business skills especially in business planning.

The BiD Network partnership will specifically deal with promoting those already in business operating with working capital between of US$5,000 and one million dollars.
"JCI is currently working with the Private Sector Federations (PFS) to identify beneficiaries.

In an interview with The New Times, Susan Mugwaneza, a salon owner in Kimihurura, said the trainings will address some of the challenges they face in their business operations.

"Being successful in business does not depend on the amount of capital one starts with, but the knowledge to operate and sustain that business,” Mugwaneza said.

JCI is an international NGO that promotes youth through coordinating, conducting and facilitating training programs basically in entrepreneurship, leadership, fellowship and self responsibility.
