New PS assumes office at Minijust

The former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Esperance Nyirasafari, yesterday officially handed over to her successor, Pascal Bizimana Ruganintwari. Nyirasafari said that the ministry had accomplished much of its targets in the current financial year with the budget execution currently at 85 percent.

The former Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Esperance Nyirasafari, yesterday officially handed over to her successor, Pascal Bizimana Ruganintwari.

Nyirasafari said that the ministry had accomplished much of its targets in the current financial year with the budget execution currently at 85 percent.

She however added that other programmes like the compilation of the final Gacaca report were still underway. She challenged the incoming Permanent Secretary to work hard to accomplish them during his term.

In his speech, Ruganintwari called for cooperation among all stakeholders in the justice sector to ensure that the ministry attains its targets and promote justice.  

Nyirasafari, a former prosecutor, has held the office since February 2007.
