Abortion in simple terms is the termination of a pregnancy. It is a practice best described as brutal and inhumane in regards to the innocent lives being taken.

But what people need to understand that whereas there is no justification for ‘murder’, there are reasons.

Rape is one the many factors that have forced women to terminate pregnancies.

Knowing that this baby will grow up as a constant reminder of the trauma the rapist put you through is enough to send you scheduling an appointment with a doctor.

I know it’s not the baby’s fault but some women just don’t see it that way.

They would rather terminate it than bring it into the world to torment them and also be hated! But what would you do if it were a relative that took advantage of you, say your father?

It’s crazy but we hear these stories all the time of men turning their daughters into wives.

They end up getting the poor girl pregnant and leaving her with no choice but to abort and put her life at risk as well. I’m more than certain that there is not a soul on this planet that would want to have a daughter who unfortunately happens to be their sister too!

Yes, that child has the right to be born but even she on finding out the story behind her conception would be appalled and completely traumatized forever.

Either way, it’s really up to the person carrying that child because some people are strong and some are just not.

I once read a story about a woman who was raped by her retarded 17-year-old son while staying with her in laws. Her husband had passed away a couple of months before and she pretty much had nowhere to go.

Call it fate or simply the worst of bad luck, but this is the saddest thing I’d ever heard in a long time.

The only advice she got was to abort the baby. Not a single person told her to keep the pregnancy.

She was scared that her relatives would say she had cheated on her husband and of course would not believe that she had been raped, more so by her son no matter how retarded he was!

The question you need to ask yourself here is ‘what would you do?’ These are things we need to sit down and ask ourselves before we go judging other people.

Online statistics say that approximately 42 million abortions happen every year in the world. And approximately 115,000 happen every day!

Some of these women are even married but end up conceiving much earlier than planned especially if their last baby isn’t half a year old!   It really sounds strange that a married woman would terminate her baby, but it happens.

You could find one who had to terminate the baby because it wasn’t her husband’s!

Teenage girls have abortions because some boy at their school or at home convinces them that pre-marital sex is the way forward and that virgins are cowards and losers!

Some of them come from families that would rather see the girl dead than face the fact that she had a baby out of wedlock. So in order not to disappoint their families, they abort.

Some women abort because the men that got them pregnant could care less and others simply because they are not ready to be mothers!

This is quite puzzling because by the time you let yourself engage in such mature behavior, did you not know you were not ready to have a child? Ever heard of contraceptives or condoms perhaps?

Whether abortion is legalized worldwide or not, it is something that will always receive mixed reviews. But the way I see it, one can use one’s body any way they please and even if these poor babies do not deserve it, all I can think of is they were never meant to be born.

Life is already mapped out for us, which is why we have got to appreciate our lives more!
