KIGALI - The new Health Minister, Dr Agnes Binagwaho, yesterday visited victims of the fatal bus accident that occurred in Tanzania early this week.

Six severely wounded victims were airlifted by RDF choppers to King Faisal Hospital Kigali (KFH,K) but three of them had already passed away.

The victims were members of a Kigali based Adventist Church choir, Ambassadors of Christ, who had gone toperform in Tanzania.

Binagwaho announced that while some of the patients had been discharged from the hospital, the others had stabilised and are in stable condition.

"I share the stress they have gone through. The government pays its deep condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones,” Binagwaho told the press shortly after.

"We are gifted with good leadership which ensures that Rwandan citizens are safe; this was demonstrated by the sacrifice made by rescue teams that rushed to Tanzania in helicopters and ensured that people’s lives are secure.”

Binagwaho further commended the management of the hospital for offering quality healthcare and first aid to the victims.
