Editor,

This letter is in response to your article entitled "Districts to get Health Managers” that appeared in The NewTimes, May 11, 2011.

The Yale University applauds the good work the Ministry of Health is doing to partner with institutions that can assist in strengthening the Rwandan health care system.

Yale is pleased to be part of the group of universities from the United States that offer support to the Ministry’s vision and efforts to improve training for healthcare professionals, including health care managers, physicians, and nurses.

This innovative plan will have a significant impact on the health and well-being of the Rwandan people.

The move will indeed play a leading role in enhancing the facilities available at hospitals and health centres.

Like many others, I also wish to congratulate Dr. Agnes Binagwawo. Ministry of health and Dr. Desire Ndushabandi, Vice Rector of NUR, for this initiative.
