Editor,

I am writing to comment on a story that appeared in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled "Iranzi blow for wasps.’

However much it’s true that Jean Claude Iranzi is a star to reckon with, it’s also true that he’s not the only wasps’ player who should carry the burden of taking us to Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Our struggle to qualify for the continental tournament is supposed to involve all players, coaching staff and the fans.

I never get it when people claim that a team of 11 players can be doomed because one of the players is injured or suspended.

People who give such excuses forget that sometimes a player can be red-carded but his team goes on to win the match.

I believe Rwanda has a chance of making it to the 2012 games because there are many youthful players for coach Sellas Tetteh to select from.

Like we all supported our national U-17 team when it was competing in the Junior Africa Championship, we should do the same to the senior side because support is all they need to give us more memorable moments like those we had in 2004.
