Following in the footsteps of international celebrities, such as Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé Knowles, 50 Cent and P. Diddy, our own celebrity, Miss JoJo is set to launch her new company called ‘Step Forward.’

The ‘Sweet’ star said the company was already getting attention from different people adding that it is set to promote local music, among other activities.

"Step Forward will be launched at the same time with my new album in September, and I will be working with different skilled entrepreneurs,” Miss JoJo told The New Times.

Miss JoJo, an award-winning singer-songwriter known for her R&B performances, has taken a lead on the project saying, "I have always wanted to do this for a long time and I will run the company alongside my music career.”

The star, born Josiane Uwinenza, but later became a Muslim, last week pulled out of the Primus Guma Guma Superstar competition, claiming that her religious beliefs as a Muslim forbids her from branding alcohol.

Meanwhile, ten contestants who will compete for the grand prize of Rwf6 million and a one year contract to promote Primus, were last Saturday unveiled in a ceremony held at Kigali Serena Hotel.

The eventual winner will also have a chance to record a song and its video with an international artist Sean Kingston.

Sean Kingston will headline at the grand finale of Primus Guma Guma Superstar slated for July 30, at Amahoro National Stadium.
