Editor,

I wish to express my sympathies and condolences to the families and relatives of victims of the most recent accidents that have robbed our country of its beloved citizens.

A few days after 16 people travelling in a taxi perished at Gitikinyoni, we got to learn of the sad news that two members of the Ambassadors Choir were killed in an accident in Tanzania, while several others were injured.

The road accidents happened after the misery left behind by landslides in the Western Province that recently claimed the lives of one family.

We cannot continue to lose lives this way. While natural disasters like landslides are unpredictable hence less preventable, road accidents can be averted if all of us acted with caution.

Traffic police should, as ever, continue toughening its approach against errant motorists. I am sure Rwanda has the most efficient Traffic police in the region, a trend they should maintain.

We pray for the families of the victims and may God bless our Country.
