NUR defend ‘Never Again’ Karate title

NATIONAL University of Rwanda (NUR) proved that they are still the undisputed Karate kings after retaining their ‘Never Again’ title at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.The varsity side claimed three trophies; Kata (men), Kumite (women) and team Kumite.

NATIONAL University of Rwanda (NUR) proved that they are still the undisputed Karate kings after retaining their ‘Never Again’ title at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

The varsity side claimed three trophies; Kata (men), Kumite (women) and team Kumite.

Mamaru won the team Kata category while Samurai were crowned Kumite champions.

Following their dominance, NUR is expected to provide the lion’s share of the national team which is expected to compete in the 10th All Africa Games slated for September in Maputo, Mozambique as well as the World Junior Karate Championship in Malaysia.

Other clubs who take part in the Never Again tourney included Kaisho, APR, Kensei, Aigle, Hantei, Lion, Nyamagabe, Fayt, Kamikaze, ISAE Busogo and Mutara Polytechnic.
