I would like to congratulate the under-17 national football team for the good performance in the recently concluded inaugural Cecafa Youth Championship that was held in Burundi.

Right from their opening game, they recorded maximum victories but their semi-final loss was heavily attributed to fatigue in their past fixtures.

They managed to resist the Ugandan team despite failure to build up a formidable defense that would halt the 0-3 loss.

 Yes, this is our team and they should stand not to be blamed at all.

 This was their first appearance in the event and I think next year, we shall take home the trophy after learning from this experience.

 Coach Yves Rukundo and all team players are should be praised and thanked for their performance despite failure to notch a medal prize in the championship.
