Editor,

After watching Barcelona eliminate Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid on 3-1 aggregate, I have come to the conclusion that the side will win the Champions League trophy in the finals at Wembley.

Besides playing beautiful football, Pep Guardiola’s side has proved to be trophy hungry.

They approach every game with the intention of pleasing football fans and also winning games. This is something we don’t often see.

Real Madrid, who were their opponents in the semi-finals, have a set of equally good players with the likes of Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, Kaka, Higuain, Ozil,Di Maria, Khedira, and many others, but they were always outplayed by Barcelona.

Most people blamed Mourinho for poor tactics but sometimes I think a coach has nothing much to do when playing a team of Barcelona’s calibre.

Manchester United who are favourites to reach the Champion’s League Final should enter Wembley ready to watch out for not only Messi, Xavi and Iniesta but all Barcelona players because they all have the potential to do damage to any team.

Messi has proved beyond any doubt that he is the best player. He still stresses that he is not ready to stop scoring goals anytime soon especially in an important game like the champions league final.
