Oh gosh, I met this guy who reminded me of an incident that I had got off my mind. It was so horrible that I cannot help but subject you people to this story maybe you feel my horror too.

Anyway, as we got into a taxi at Remera Taxi Park, this dirty, filthy looking guy comes into the taxi.

I could smell him from where I was seated, so I moved a few seats back. As if that was not enough, he removed his shoes.

OMG! I could smell his dirty, smelly, disgusting feet from four rows away! It smelled like a combination of dirty gym socks that have been worn for a month straight and not washed, I would not want to sound rude but they smelt like a rotting rat carcass.

I seriously felt like throwing up, but at the look of things it seemed like everyone in the Taxi was feeling the same. People were opening windows, covering their noses, holding their breaths for as long as they could and generally doing everything to help them not smell this guy’s feet.

When we reached Rwandex, the driver could also not hold it anymore but needed to liberate his passengers, he indeed became a savior in time of need. He put his foot down and told the guy to put his shoes back on because he was making the whole taxi stink.

But it didn’t help much because the smell had already filled the limited air in the taxi. Ooops, thank God, I thought to myself, I only have 10 minutes left to get out of this harassment, yet I had to pay for it.

As soon as I got off this hell of a taxi, I got a perfume and sprayed myself to get rid of any dreadful odors that may have clung onto me.

Either people do not care about themselves or it costs so much to wash a pair of socks. People can at least try to keep their feet smell-free. Keep your shoes aerated after wearing them and buy several cheap pairs of socks that you can wash and dry up at the end of the day.
