Just like any other girl, Jane wanted the finest things in life. She made a promise to herself when she was about six years old that she wouldn’t settle for anything less. It was her sworn destiny.

25 years and a couple of flings later, she felt it was about time she settled down. No offense, but none of her exes fitted the ‘finest’ bill so she kept looking.

One day at a party at her friend’s place she spots what could possibly be the most beautiful thing she’d ever seen, literally.

But the beauty about the whole thing was that Mr. Hawte was also checking her out.
She fidgeted in her seat, didn’t know where to look anymore and felt utterly nervous.

The butterflies in her stomach weren’t helping either. She decided to walk away from where she was seated and go join her friends over on the balcony.

To her surprise, the man followed a couple of minutes later still holding his blazing gaze upon her. She could not believe it and couldn’t hide the excitement that a hot stranger was checking her out. I mean, come on, there were like a gazillion girls there who looked far hotter than she did.
It was love at first sight, or so she thought.

She decided she was not going to waste another second waiting.
So she walked up to him and with the cutest smile she could gather, said ‘hello’.

Okeeey! She’d like to think it was just the booze he’d been drinking but what came out of his mouth when he spoke was something not even the gods could explain! It’s like something had died in his mouth! No wonder he hardly said a word all night.
But his looks and charisma were just too much to let go of.

‘Maybe it was only today’, she tried to tell herself.   But the more they spoke, the more she wanted to dash out the door. It was like nothing she’d ever known.

Saying the man looked good is an understatement; even the cologne he wore was a winner. He spoke with such ease and eloquence like he’d been born a couple of centuries ago. She just couldn’t stomach the man’s breath.

She spotted some of her friends looking at her, probably envying her and she wished she could tell them it so wasn’t what they imagined.

She agreed to meet him the next day for a cup of coffee hoping it probably wouldn’t be the same. He really was interesting, with a great sense of humor and ballistic job to go with it. I mean could he be more perfect?
During coffee the following day as she sat next to him, issues were still the same.

She looked at his Megawatt smile, neatly clipped teeth and oh my, those eyes that make you just want to dive into them. She decided she didn’t care about his ‘little’ problem.
If she had to feed him gum or mints all day and night, so be it.

She wasn’t going to let something like that stand in her way of getting everything she’d ever dreamed of. She wondered if there was some sort of surgical procedure for the problem, but that was just a thought!

She was in love with him in every aspect you can think of and went ahead to marry him and give him some kids. Till today, he wonders why the house is always stocked with gum and why his wife is so enthusiastic about him having some, every minute!
