THE country’s ace rider Adrien Niyonshuti is desperate to keep his good run of form going in the African Challenge race.
The two-time tour of Rwanda champion will compete in the Fairbairn Capital/Old Mutual joBerg2c championship which paces off tomorrow in South Africa.
Niyonshuti will partner with Ghost-DoItNow’s Max Knox in the 900km event which will last nine days from April 29-May 7 between Heidelberg in Gauteng and Scottburgh in KwaZulu-Natal.
"It is a different race but the target remains the same, a podium finish,” Niyonshuti said before singling out David Kinjah and Davidson Kamau (Safari Simbaz Fairbairn Capital) as his key competitors.
Niyonshuti, whose talent was first spotted at the Wooden Bike Classic five years ago, qualified for the Olympic Games following a fourth spot finish at the African Continental Championships in Stellenbosch back in February.
The 24-year-old believes the Cape Epic has been perfect preparation for the Fairbairn Capital/Old Mutual joBerg2c.
