Who is to blame for child labour?

Editor,

As we intensify the campaign against child labour, in Rwanda and in Africa in general, we should identify and shun people who promote the vice, which has kept African children in servitude for many years.

We should not only condemn people who practise it but instead mete out harsh punishment against such insensitive people. For instance, there are children young enough to be in primary school who work as house-helps.

I appeal to the Ministry of Public Service and Labour to carry out wide-raging investigations to help bring child labour to an end.
