APR’s influential midfielder Haruna Niyonzima and goal keeper Jean Claude Ndoli have been linked with moves to Tanzania’s premier league sides Young Africans (Yanga) and Simba.

Yanga, which is coached by former Atraco coach Sam Timbe, has expressed interest in Niyonzima while rivals Simba want Ndoli as cover in goal.

According to Swahili newspaper Mwanaspoti, Haruna said, "They have called me but I have a contract with APR and the issue is out of my hands.”

Niyonzima, who is also Amavubi skipper, is the second APR player to be targeted by Yanga after Jean Baptist Mugiraneza a.k.a Migi.

Meanwhile, Simba’s recruitment officer Geoffrey Nyange is expected to travel to Kigali this week for negotiations with APR.

If Ndoli’s deal goes through, he will join former teammate Patrick Mutesa Mafisango who joined Simba recently on a swap deal.

In a related development, Simba executive committee has overlooked SC Kiyovu’s coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira and appointed Ugandan Moses Basena as the club’s new head coach.

Basena has signed a six-month contract. Basena becomes the second Ugandan coach to manage a Tanzania club after Timbe.
