Two held over forgery

NYAMIRAMBO - Two suspects are currently in custody at Nyamirambo Police station in connection with forgery and duplication of official government seals.

Yusuf Nsabimana and Van Nuwibicu of Rwezamenyo Sector, Nyarugenge District, were found in possession of forged stamps including that of the legal representative in the Ministry of Justice.

Police rounded up the suspects after a tip-off. Police officers, who posed as clients arrested the suspects. as they unlawfully offered notification services to the public at a fee of Frw 10,000. 

According to Police, after a thorough search of the premises, they discovered other forged stamps with names of practicing legal officers embedded.

Police spokesperson, Supt Theos Badege, cautioned the public against using fake services.

"Those in need of academic papers should use the right channels of education instead of opting for illegal shortcuts,” he said.

Supt. Badege pointed out that forgery of property titles was also among the services offered by such criminals.
