THE Junior Wasps camp should be livelier after the arrival of Arsenal’s U-16 player Alfred Mugabo and Bonfils Kabanda (Nancy).

The pair joined camp on Wednesday and could play a cameo part in Saturday’s friendly against Auxerre’s youth team.

Mugabo is excited to be part of Richard Tardy’s provisional squad and has vowed to make the most of the opportunity.

"It’s an honour to be playing for motherland and I hope to make the final squad for the Fifa U-17 World Cup in Mexico,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kabanda’s focus is on the team’s final friendly against France’s U-17 side next Thursday.
"We have to do our best to beat France. It’s what everyone is focused on,” he said
.
The team has so far played two friendlies. The first one was a 2-all draw against Drancy FC while the second one was a 2-0 win over La Vallion.

After Auxerre, the junior wasps will take on Creteil (April 26) before clashing with France’s U-17 side (the Little Blues).

The Little Blues will use the match as a build-up to the Euro U-17 championship slated to run from May 3-15 in Serbia.

From Paris, the team will jet back before heading to London for a high profile friendly match against Tottenham’s U-17 side on May 18.

The team will then proceed to Frankfurt, Germany for a one-week training camp before flying to the US for a final practice session ahead of the showdown in Mexico.
