After winning the second le of the 2008 ITF/CAT Money Circuit, Jean Claude Gasigwa has turned his attention on the upcoming Uganda Open slated for February 28-March 2 at Lugogo tennis grounds.

Gasigwa told Times Sport on phone from Kampala yesterday that he is delighted to have lifted the ITF/CAT money circuit titles in both Kigali and Kampala legs and hopes this will boost his performance in the Uganda Open.

"I’m confident and determined to win the Uganda Open. Technically I’m fit but lonely because my country mates have returned home,” Gasigwa said.

Gasigwa cruised to second leg title after a straight sets victory 6-3, 6-4 over fellow country-man Dieudonne Habiyambere.

In the first leg final, Gasigwa beat Kenya’s Francis Rogoi 6-2, 6-1. This is Gasigwa’s second ITF/Cat money circuit title since his debut four years ago.

In the Men’s doubles final, Gasigwa and Noel Hakizimana teamed up well to lift the doubles title. They beat Martin Dzuwa of Zimbabwe and Kenyan Francis Logoi 7-5, 6-4, 6-3.
