THE final 12-man squad for the Nile fun rugby 10s tournament will be named this afternoon. According to the Silverbacks reserve coach Joseph Bugabo, the provisional 32-man squad which has been training at Rugunga will be trimmed down to 12 ahead of the one-day tournament slated for Friday at Dam Waters Ground, Jinja, Uganda.

Bugabo revealed that he would include two Silverbacks stars Benjamin Makombe (fly-half) and Vincent Kamali (scrum half).

"The core of the team is made of reserve players but in Makombe and Kamali, the team has experience and quality.”

"Our target is to win the Main Cup. Last year we reached the Bowl final but I believe we have the resources this time round to go all the way,” Bugabo said.

Top clubs from Uganda and Kenya are expected to compete and according to the organizers, IRB (International Rugby Board) rules for sevens-a-side will be applicable.
