ACE golfer Emmanuel Ruterana is relishing the chance of cashing in on the lucrative KCB Tanzania Open set for May 12-13 in Arusha, Tanzania.

The 28-year-old has never won a tournament in Tanzania but is adamant that this may be his time to shine on the big stage.

Ruterana plans to travel to Arusha early next month to acclimatize to the Par-72 Gymkhana golf course.
"I have played on this course before, so I don’t expect any surprises but I intend to travel early to get a feel of the fairway and the greens,” he said.

The two-day event has prize money equating to Rwf7m. It also serves as a warm up to the KCB Rwanda Open slated to run from May 25-29 at the Kigali Golf Club.

Early this year, the KCB Group announced a sponsorship deal of Rwf61.8m for the East African Golf Tour Series.
The tour, which draws both amateur and professional golfers, is being held in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda.
