HUNDREDS of Gisenyi residents recently attended a charity concert to support orphans and widows of the former employees of Bralirwa killed by infiltrators in Rubavu, Western Province.

The killings took place in January 19, 1998, when infiltrators (Abacengezi) burnt to ashes, a bus ferrying the Bralirwa staff to work.

The concert spearheaded by celebrated Gospel artiste, Alphonse Bahati, was held at Kigali Independent University (ULK), Rubavu branch.

Other artistes who performed included Aimé Uwimana, Kabaganza Liliane, Patient Bizimana, Frere Manu, Maurice Hakizimana, Liliane Kabaganza and Blessed Dancing Group.

Clad in a blue suit matched with a white shirt, Bahati performed a number of songs, including ‘Urupfu narigupfa’ with a backup dance group.
The concert was graced by a prayer led by Pastor Jean Claude Iyakaremyeniyikamena.
