THE crisis at Rayon Sport soared yesterday when Emmanuel Ruremesha sensationally resigned from the club’s interim head coach position following a major row with owner Albert Rudatsimburwa.

The combustible former Atraco FC assistant coach revealed to Times Sport that his decision follows the club’s failure to renew his contract and pay salary arrears for the last three months.

"I have called Rudatsimburwa so many times but he never picks up my calls. I sent him so many messages but he never replied any of them so I have now taken a firm stand to resign,” a frustrated Ruremesha said.Efforts to reach Rudatsimbura were futile by press time.

Ruremesha is the second coach to resign from the club in a space of three weeks.

Andy Mfutila who once guided APR to two league titles went AWOL (Away without official leave) early this month after penning a renewable six-month contract.

Rayon open their second round campaign this afternoon with a tie against struggling Marine at Umuganda stadium and fitness coach Jean Pierre Ernzen is widely expected to take charge.

The Blues are currently in fourth place, 20 points adrift of leaders APR who entertain Amagaju at Kigali Regional Stadium today, reports Bonnie Mugabe.
The eleven-time league champions ended the first round with a 100 per cent record and assistant coach Eric Nshimiyimana expects the team to maintain the good run.

"We have good depth in the squad and I expect a strong performance from the boys in the second round,” the former Amavubi and APR midfielder noted.

Apart from Malawi international Victor Nyirenda, the rest of the players are up for selection this afternoon.

Elsewhere, relegation battling side Mukura host AS Kigali in Huye, second placed SC Kiyovu visit La Jeunesse at Mumena stadium while Musanze hosts Etincelles in Musanze.Tomorrow, Police will entertain AS Muhanga at Kicukiro turf.
