Artistes to perform during commemoration week closure

The national commemoration week for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi officially ends today, April 13, at Rebero Genocide memorial site, the resting place of politicians opposed to the genocidal regime.The ceremony will start at 9am with live performances by various musicians, including Maria Yohana Mukankuranga, Mani Martin, Patrick Nyamitari, Tonzi, Eric Rukundo, Army Jazz Band, Eric Senderi, Kitoko, Kizito Mihigo and Dieudone Munyanshoza, a.k.a, Mibirizi.

The national commemoration week for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi officially ends today, April 13, at Rebero Genocide memorial site, the resting place of politicians opposed to the genocidal regime.

The ceremony will start at 9am with live performances by various musicians, including Maria Yohana Mukankuranga, Mani Martin, Patrick Nyamitari, Tonzi, Eric Rukundo, Army Jazz Band, Eric Senderi, Kitoko, Kizito Mihigo and Dieudone Munyanshoza, a.k.a, Mibirizi.

‘Mibirizi’ is famous for his Genocide inspired songs and albums, including Duhore tubibuka and Ntibizongere kubaho. 

This year’s theme is "Commemorating the Genocide Against the Tutsi: Upholding the Truth, Preserving our Dignity.”

This year’s commemoration period that began last Thursday, at the Gisozi Memorial Center in Kigali, led by President Paul Kagame .

Meanwhile, for the rest of the commemoration period, Rwandans have been encouraged to attend seminars, films and conferences on the Genocide.
