"Jesus turned water into wine at the wedding in Canan,” this excuse is used by many drunkards but I wish they knew that it is such a lame excuse, may be they should find crutches for it.

I attended a friend’s wedding, and as we patiently waited for the newly married couple to come in, I turned and next to me sat this good looking guy.

The guy was tall, well-built and elegant. He generally defined the word handsome; he had everything any girl would look for in a man.

With my friends, we wondered why he came to such a ceremony alone, yet he had a ring on his finger, which to us meant he was married.

Drinks were served, he started with some wine, and little did he seem bothered by the fact that he was alone, we noticed that he was happy just the way he was.

As the evening drew close, he kept ordering for more and more drinks, we saw that he was enjoying every sip he drank.

People began to find their way out of the hall but he took no step, I started to wonder why this married man kept away from his spouse who should be his companion.

This man, just like many has made alcohol his companion. Many men tend to abandon their spouses and families for booze and spend more time drinking.

Bars and other drinking joints have become their second if not, first homes. I am sorry to say but some have decided to make alcohol a spouse. More time is spent drinking themselves out of shape.

They only  come home to remind their spouses that they are men, but does alcohol make one a better man or it just kills who you are? Just asking.

Some of their children do not even know exactly who they are, because they come in late, leave early to go make money, of which half is for the bar owners. Their children only have a rough picture of who dad is- it’s a shame.

The once vibrant relationship begins to wither just because of alcohol. The fire burns out and there is no reason to stay in that cold relationship.

After all there is no joy, happiness and love which is supposed to be the sole reason of any relationship. All these qualities are lost to alcohol, the new companion.
