Heart of Africa Trading, a Rwandan logistics company with presence in China, is set to start operations in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, providing reliable trade, clearing and forwarding logistics services to importers and exporters in Rwanda and beyond.

This was announced by the Rwandan embassy in Abu Dhabi during the final leg of the UAE-Rwanda Business forums and investment roadshow at Dubai Chamber on Friday, February 24.

While in UAE's most populous city, more than 150 business executives from Rwanda and Dubai explored Rwanda's friendly business environment.

At least six trade and investment deals have so far been signed at the ongoing business forum attended by more than 200 senior executives from Rwanda and the UAE. The agreements aimed to strengthen partnerships and deepen joint economic relations between the two countries.

The business forum takes place after trade between Rwanda and UAE reached $1 billion (more than Rwf1 trillion) in 2022.

According to official figures, investments by UAE companies in Rwanda reached $248 million (over Rwf273 billion) at the end of 2022, a tenfold increase in a decade.

There are more than 10 UAE companies registered in Rwanda.
