How can the Midwifry profession be promoted?

Around the world, midwives are working to ensure that women receive high-quality and dignified care before, during and after childbirth, and experience safe, healthy deliveries. Yet, globally, one in three women still gives birth without a skilled birth attendant. We know that investment in midwifery care is critical to reducing needless deaths in pregnancy and childbirth. This is word on the street about how to increase the number of midwives and improve their working conditions.
