As Rwanda’s representatives at the All Africa Women’s club championships due in Nairobi from  March 30-April 7, debutants Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) are gearing up for the continental showpiece promising only success.

"We are going to give this our very best and we want to finish among the top four teams at this tournament,” said the head coach Jean Luc Ndayicyengurukiye.

RRA qualified to represent the country following their triumph as league champions at the end of last season, ousting traditional rivals APR, who have been dominating the domestic competition for over a decade now.

Signing left attacker Alexandra Humuza from France, setter Ernestine Akimanizanye and center blocker Marie Paul Umutesi, the tax collectors will have a level of experience that could bring them a bag of success after the week long tournament.

However, RRA will have to be conscious of defending champions Kenya Prisons who clinched the African title last year in Mauritius and are currently ranked as the world’s fifth best women’s club.

The other major competitors will be record holders Kenya Pipeline, Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Algeria’s Bejaia, Mauritia’s Black Rangers, Cameroonian side Bafia Revolution and Uganda’s Nkumba University.
