Jacque’s Vibes:Sports can be a relationship binder

On that couch she cuddles you; besides watching a match together, you are having a quality and romantic time. How about waking up to jog with her, she would love it. This puts across a message that you care about your spouse, after all it is a couple’s duty to keep healthy. This may seem minor but yields a healthy and vibrant relationship.

It’s not just about saying all the sweet words that matter but trying out these activities can keep the fire burning.

While sports can bind some couples closer, it does not work for everyone. Different people have different interests or hobbies.

One day, I listened to a group of my colleagues talk about how their spouses did not like their addiction to football and other sports activities. I actually think that some couples have had disagreements and even gone as far as divorcing as a result of football or any other sport.

Some people become addicts and totally forget to create time for their families and spouses. The once vibrant relationship begins to get cold because the attention has been drawn to these matches.

Worse still, instead of him knowing what time his spouse should be picked from work, he would rather know the premiership fixtures off head. Just wondering, if these leagues will help him solve his problems at the end of the day.

Being a fanatic kills your relationship gradually, you will not realize until she leaves your house. There is certainly no need to continue fighting for the remote control and disagreements about which team is better, who is faster , who plays better, who is this and that.

Take advantage of sports to amend your relationships, spending time together watching that Amavubi or Man Utd match should give you and your spouse ample time to talk about your relationship.

Couples should know that there is a time for everything and there is always a priority. Relationships do not only grow as a result of words only but actions are always louder.

Show her you care by just asking her to come along as you go to watch a game. She will know you are proud of her, remember women love public display of attraction. She might not really like sports but because she is with you, she will like it; you certainly have nothing to lose.
