What’s the big deal with weddings?

“I do not believe in marriage before a wedding. In fact, I personally do not buy that idea because even my friends and family members can never consider that to be a marriage. I will be comfortable even it a cheap function.” Leony Ruranganwa, Radio City Presenter.

"I do not believe in marriage before a wedding. In fact, I personally do not buy that idea because even my friends and family members can never consider that to be a marriage. I will be comfortable even it a cheap function.”

Leony Ruranganwa, Radio City Presenter.

"It is a risk for any women to settle for marriage without plans of having a wedding after. Although it is also true that some men fulfill such promises, others never especially after having children.”

Grace Muhawenimana, Private Sector.

"I would prefer staying with my wife for some time, work together to get enough money before we get things like weddings. In my opinion, it gives people time to learn and realize their partner`s true colours since many are found of pretending when in a relationship but turn out to be a problem when they get home.”

Stephen Musoni, S. 6 Student, Kanombe Secondary School.

"I believe it’s not right idea to rush in for the wedding ceremony. It is advisable to get married, find out if this marriage works out and then go ahead to have this wedding. It is better than having a great ceremony only to break up in a very short time.”

Epaphrodite Binamungu, Artist/Craftsman.

"I am a Rwandan and in our culture, it is a wedding that determines one`s marriage. In fact, I do not understand what you talk about when you see marriage before weddings yet it’s a wedding that brings marriage.”

Vincent Mutabazi, HIV Research Coordinator, Trac Plus.
