In their bid to launch a strong comeback against the reigning champions National University of Rwanda (NUR), eleven time champions APR are eyeing Burundi’s number one point guard Francis Sokoroza.

The New Stars’ point guard who was behind his country’s historic comeback against Uganda and Tanzania in the recently concluded Zone V All Africa Nations Qualifiers is a target for big shot teams across the region.

Uganda led Burundi 46-10 during the first half of the game but because of his great decision making and basketball intelligence, he led his team to eventual victory 72-70 while against Tanzania the latter led by 28 points and his flair in the game and maturity saw Burundi triumph.

Reliable sources have seen the lethal player at the team’s training sessions in Kacyiru, Kigali and say that any time the player will be handed a deal to feature for the army side in the next two years.

He will be joining fellow countryman Blaze Nikobahoze who joined the military side last season and together they will dominate the front court alongside Rwandan Deo Nkurikiyimana.

In the paint, Coach Cliff Owuor’s side will enjoy impeccable results with the return of Kami Kabangu and Bienvenue Ngandu from Ugandan side-Falcons after a short stint last year.
