REG new signing Graham joins camp ahead of BAL 2023

Power forward Delwan Graham has jetted into the country to link up with his teammates at new club Rwanda Energy Group (REG) basketball club ahead of the 2023 Basketball Africa League (BAL) which tips off on March 11 in Dakar.

Times Sport understands that the American arrived in the country on Monday morning and is expected to start training with the rest of the squad on Tuesday.

The 34-year-old most recently played for Kharkivski Sokoly in the Ukraine - Super league.

He is the club’s latest signing after the arrival of Adonis Filer and Cleveland Thomas Jr who are already training with the team after agreeing to play for the Rwanda champions at the continental club basketball showpiece.

REG are currently camping at Centric Hotel as they step up preparation for the BAL.

Rwandan representatives, REG, and Basketball Africa League ((BAL) defending champions US-Monastir of Tunisia are among six teams drawn in the Sahara Conference group phase of the regular season of the BAL 2023 due from March 11-21 at Dakar Arena in Senegal.

The pair is joined the group by Kwara Falcons (Nigeria), Abidjan Basket Club (Côte d'Ivoire) AS Douanes (Senegal) and Stade Malien (Mali).

REG play Sahara Conference opening game with Nigeria’s Kwara Falcons on March 12.

Each participating club is allowed a 13-man roster comprising eight local players and four foreign players out of whom two must be from African countries.
