Would you take your elderly to a Nursing Home?

Unlike in developing countries, the developed world has built home care facilities or nursing homes for their elderly. The reasons mostly fit into the fact that people are so busy and have no time or money to spend at home on their grannies. Below is a word on the street about Nursing homes for the elderly just in case they are built in Rwanda. “Yes, I would take my parents or relatives to a Home Care Center. This is because I am sure that in these centers, they would be given good care that is far better than when I leave them alone at home since I have to go for work.” Dimitry Uwera, Student.

"Yes, I would take my parents or relatives to a Home Care Center. This is because I am sure that in these centers, they would be given good care that is far better than when I leave them alone at home since I have to go for work.”

Dimitry Uwera, Student.

"I can never take any of my relatives to these Centers especially my parents! Because of the love I have for my parents, I cannot afford to make them stay away from me.”

Jacques Mbonigaba Muhinda, Chairman of Irrigation and Mechanization Task Force.

"Why not? I would automatically take these people there because if I do not, I risk having frequent quarrels with my wife because of the immense work she has to do at home.”

Amza Nambajimana, Private Sector.

"I believe it is not right to take the elderly to Nursing homes when there are several young people who are still capable of taking care of them. For this reason, I cannot do it.”

Fulgence Kabundege, Director of Postal Operations, National Post Office.

"No, I cannot take my parents to such places not only because of the love I have for them, but also because I believe that my culture does not allow me to do such a thing. I would rather suspend everything I do and always be therefore them.”

Sugira Gisele, Student at G.S APRED Ndera.
