 APR Volleyball Club wrapped up their 2007 local season in style after being crowned this year’s Carre’d’AS champions at Kimisagara grounds.

The league champions ousted Kigali Volleyball Club in three straight sets in the final that surprisingly did not feature Rwanda National University (UNR).

 UNR failed to match their Coupe du Rwanda heroics falling to APR and KVC by identical score line of two sets to one.

It was APR’s second silverware for the 2007 after the league title, which they comfortably won back in May.

Casimir Kayiranga, the APR ladies’ club coach wore a smile on his face for the first time in the 2007 campaign.

After a fruitless effort in the league and Coupe du Rwanda, Kayiranga, the former APR men’s volleyball club tactician landed his first honor at the club after a 3-1 final’s victory over APEDI Rwaza.

The two-day competition was the last on this year’s calendar.
