Society Debate: We spend it all on women!

It tears me to pieces when a friend tells me that he broke up with his girlfriend. Not that I necessarily share his heartbreak, but because I understand his feelings every time he tries to calculate the money he spent on her.

It tears me to pieces when a friend tells me that he broke up with his girlfriend. Not that I necessarily share his heartbreak, but because I understand his feelings every time he tries to calculate the money he spent on her.

Call it a curse if you want to, but I think it’s completely awful for men living in the 21st Century.

Life is no longer about completing school and getting a sustainable job, but rather, scooping a high paying job and sustaining a lavish lifestyle to impress women.

Women have studied this fact so well that they use it to their benefit. To appear handsome and attractive, you don’t have to be a natural God sent hunk; all you have to do is possess lavish assets.

Now, all men, rich and poor, are stuck in this spending culture, even unconsciously, just so they can impress women in their circles.

It is not shocking nowadays to find a young man, stuck in cold rain with a girl, easily paying for a special hire taxi to transport her back home, while he braves the rain and walks to his faraway home in the opposite direction.

As a man, I lose my mind when talking to a woman I fancy… I usually have no limits to what I’m capable of.

I can forego buying my medicine and buy her a phone; I can wake up at 3:00 a.m just to watch a movie with her—name all the weird stuff and I will do it just to get thumbs up from her.

However, that is negligible compared to the lengths some men go to impress women. Some will go on to withdraw all their money from the bank and buy something for her. When she is not content, they will get loans to sooth her.

If they can’t afford any more loans, they will start to torment their buddies with debt requests, all for the same cause.

The interesting part is that most of these women work and perhaps earn more income than we do. But as culture dictates, they will not even pay for their ice-cream after you’ve spent a million on them.

When I now find a girl screaming and yelling on top of her voice that her boyfriend is not taking good care of her, I only shake my head because I know her case.

Usually, all she wants is more and more and more… just being a pure glutton by treating the man like some automatic money tap.

You can imagine what is happening on the social scene these days.  When in the company of women, men will be measured by how much each of them spent.

The amount of quality time, accorded to a gentleman while in a drinking joint, will depend on how frequently he asks the ladies whether they want another round of drinks.

As I conclude, look out for a certain TIGO billboard that speaks volumes about men’s willingness to spend on women.

Hint: it has two men secretly exchanging money while a pretty girl pauses for a snapshot.
