The kind of environment that a child is exposed to forms the basis of a child’s learning experiences. Dull environments retard learning while active ones stimulate learning.
Home environments are key to the preliminary learning of children. Research shows that children who grow up in broken families tend to perform poorly in school. This is because of the stress at home and the conflict that inhibits the psychological development of a child.
A child growing up in a conflict-torn area will always be stressed and unable to concentrate on school work. Such children tend to develop a myriad of discipline problems in school. They end up wasting a lot of class time because they are immune to authority.
Besides, getting suspended drastically affects their academic performance.
Parents should try to create caring, peaceful and loving home environments. Children need to be nurtured with a lot of affection so that they can develop a sense of belonging if their psychological development is to be fostered.
Bizarre school environments do nothing more than cripple learning. Good academic environments are created by good academic policies and programmes that engage and motivate learners.
When motivated through rewards, learners are encouraged to work hard and aim for the best. Research also indicates that learning is at its best when learners are highly motivated than when they are not.
Opportunities are not always presented on a silver platter. Hard work is the root of success. Focused students will always pass because they value their studying time and endeavor to understand what the teacher says. However, several students get it the wrong way.
They think that they can relax and surprise everybody at the last minute. I believe in miracles, sometimes, but I have no faith in a miracle of success without hard work.
