Ancelloti was wrong to go for triad

Last weekend, Chelsea fans watched their team lose to Liverpool at Stanford Bridge. This result shocked many on the Blues side of London, especially after signing Spanish striker Fernando Torres from their opponents and David Luiz from sporting club Benifica. Against Liverpool, Ancelotti chose to start with the triad of strikers; Torres, Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka. Mr. Joseph Rwagatare

The attacking system of Chelsea was well counteracted by his opponent as Douglish chose to go for a 4-5-1 formation and denying Chelsea chance to get to the goal mouth.

Torres got lost completely in the game as he was tightly marked by his former teammates. Drogba lacked connection and played a more midfield role and lacked attacking spark.
Anelka was equally lost as he was forced to drop back and pick balls from the midfield after being hijacked by a tight Liverpool midfield.

Though there was confusion between petr Cech and one of his centre half Ivanovic that gave chance Liverpool to take the lead late on, Liverpool won all midfield battles.
Perhaps Chelsea should have opted for a 4-5-1 formation with Drogba leading the frontline and being supported by attacking midfielders Solomon Kalou and Florent Malouda. In this case, you need to bring in new man Torres and Anelka as late substitutes to support the attack.

After losing the midfield battle, Liverpool went ahead to claim victory after a 77-minute Raul Merreilles goal won the game.
Chelsea is more effective when Drogba is given a floating role upfront that makes him not easily tight marked by defenders.

When you look at Chelsea’s winning system, you believe that Fernando Torres needs more time to adapt to life at Chelsea, and as a professional coach Accelotti should well be aware of this factor.

You do not bring in a player to the starting line-up simply because he was bought a big sum of money after all at the end of 90 minutes only three points are important.

At this stage of the season, three points are crucial and i believe Chelsea lost all the three because of wrong tactics.
Liverpool manager and former Liverpool player showed he has a deeper understanding of the game than his Italian counterpart.

Liverpool signed highly rated Andy Carroll from Newcastle and Luiz Suarez from A Jax Amsterdam but the Scottish manager did not rash them into the crucial game against Chelsea.

Though both are young and sharp strikers, Douglish is planning how well they will fit in his team and score more goals that will enable him cruise to the top four spot,
Chelsea has been struggling to recover from a series of poor performance that erupted mid this season and need urgent improvement if they are to land into big four at the end of the season with a possibility to earn next season’s champion’s league slot.

There is high competition in big four at the moment as Manchester city and Tottenham Hotspur are vying for top positions. Chelsea currently level with Tottenham Hotspur on 44 points and Liverpool only 7 points adrift.

Next Chelsea is travelling to silent premier league killers in Fulham who are very hard to beat at home. Accelotti and his technical advisors will be aware of Fulham’s good defensive record. At Fulham, you do not score cheap goals; they have got sharp, young and motivated midfielders and defenders who are hard to break at times.

Losing to Fulham would be a disaster for the Italian and Chelsea football club as the club urgently needs to win games and catch Manchester city, Arsenal and Man. United who are currently leading the premier league chase.
